The 330th Meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) was held at the Rihga Royal Hotel in Hiroshima. The Meeting was presented by H.E. U Kyaw Tun, Chargé d’ Affaires/ Ambassador of Myanmar to Japan, ASEAN Ambassadors, Representatives and ACT officials of the ASEAN Embassies.
During the meeting, ASEAN Ambassadors had a friendly and candid discussions on the Japan’s domestic development and regional development as well as the upcoming activities that will be organized by the ACT through the year.
The meeting was followed by the Presentation on Hiroshima-ASEAN Association (HAA) by HAA Chairman Ms. Komatsu Setsuko. During the presentation, she highlighted that HAA stands as the sole private organization bringing ASEAN and Japan together. She further explained that the association actively organizes ASEAN-related seminars, facilitates visits of Japanese business delegations to ASEAN countries, and provides support for ASEAN students.
Following the presentation, the Chairman of HAA hosted a luncheon in honor of the ASEAN Ambassadors. During the event, H.E. Mr. Ong Eng Chuan, Ambassador of Singapore, in a capacity of current Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT), presented a commemorative gift to Ms. Komatsu Setsuko on behalf of ASEAN Ambassadors, after which a photo session was held with the Chairman of HAA and the ASEAN Ambassadors.
