The Embassy and Permanent Mission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Vienna, the current Chair of the ASEAN Vienna Committee(AVC) (from July to December 2025), held the 64th AVC Meeting on 19-12-2025 at the Residence of the Ambassador of Myanmar.
The AVC Chair Ambassador U Min Thein briefed the Meeting on the AVC’s activities organized under Myanmar’s Chairmanship in promoting ASEAN visibility in the host country, as well as among the international organizations based in Vienna. As outstanding activities, the ASEAN Day and ASEAN Family Day events were organized on 20-12-2025 and 19-12-2025 at the Vienna International Centre and Donaupark, respectively, commemorating the 58th Anniversary of ASEAN. In addition, an ASEAN Roundtable Exchange was held on 30-9-2025 at the Federal Ministry of European and International Affairs of Austria, during which cordial discussions were held between Heads of ASEAN Embassies and senior officials of the Federal Ministry and the Federal Chancellery to strengthen cooperation between ASEAN and Austria, as well as with the European Union. Afterwards, the Ambassador of Myanmar handed over the AVC Chairmanship to the Ambassador of the Philippines.
Following the Meeting, the Ambassador of Myanmar hosted a luncheon for Ambassadors and Permanent Representatives, Chargés d’Affaires a.i., and Working Group officials of the ASEAN Embassies and Permanent Missions based in Vienna.
