The Myanmar Embassy in Kuwait jointly co-hosted the “ASEAN Cultural and Tourism Night” event with the International Women Group at 19:00 on May 18, 2025, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Kuwait. The event was organized in collaboration with the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait (ACK), which comprises ASEAN embassies accredited to the State of Kuwait, in partnership with the International Women Group (IWG). IWG is a non-profit organization established in 1989 to promote culture, tradition, and knowledge sharing among its members through various events such as excursions, national and cultural day celebrations, presentations, meetings, and other social gatherings. The organization was founded by the spouses of heads of diplomatic missions in Kuwait. At the opening ceremony, the national anthem of the State of Kuwait and the ASEAN song were played, followed by opening remarks delivered by the current Chairman of the ACK Ambassador of Viet Nam to Kuwait, H.E. Dr. Nguyen Duc Thang, and the current Chairman of IWG, Madame Polina Dlamini. The Myanmar Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, H.E. U Chan Aye, and his spouse, along with ambassadors, heads of missions, and diplomats from various embassies in Kuwait, including ASEAN embassies, were in attendance. During the event, video clips showcasing ASEAN culture, food, and tourism promotions were presented to the audience. Cultural performances were also staged by the embassies of Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Vietnam. In addition to these performances, ASEAN embassies in Kuwait provided traditional food and products from ASEAN countries to all participants. Furthermore, individual cultural booths were set up to exhibit items promoting the culture and tourism of ASEAN nations.
