Myanmar Embassy in Phnom Penh hosts a reception in celebration of the 78th Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on 29th January 2026 from 1800 to 2000 hrs at Himawari Hotel in Phnom Penh.
The commemorate reception was attended by approximately 150 distinguished guests, including the guest of honor, H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce of the Kingdom of Cambodia, H.E. Dr. Ly Thuch, Senior Minister, H.E. Mr. Preap Kol, Minister attached to the Prime Minister, H.E. Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts. Other attendees included several Secretaries of State, Under Secretaries of States, senior officials and representatives from the Cambodian Senate, government ministries and agencies. Ambassadors, Chargé d'Affaires, diplomats from foreign embassies based in Phnom Penh and Defense Attachés were also present. Additionally, Myanmar Defense Attaché and officials from the Office of the Defense Attaché, members of the Myanmar community in Cambodia, and other invited guests participated in the event.
As per the agenda, Myanmar's Ambassador to Cambodia, H.E.U Kyaw Soe Min, and the esteemed Minister of Commerce of Cambodia, H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul delivered individual addresses. Following the ceremony, attendees were invited to capture memorable photos and were then presented with a video showcasing Myanmar’s stunning landscapes, rich beauty, and vibrant traditions. Guests were also treated with the renowned Mohinga, along with other delicacies and a variety of refreshing beverages.
