H.E. Aung Myo Myint, Permanent Representative of Myanmar to ASEAN held separate farewell meetings to mark the completion of his tour of duty. He met with H.E. Evgeny Zagaynov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to ASEAN, on 26 June 2026, and H.E. Srinivas Gotru, Ambassador of India to ASEAN, on 1 July 2026.
During the meetings, the Permanent Representative of Myanmar discussed Myanmar’s recent developments, the status of its ongoing cooperation within ASEAN mechanisms and frameworks, as well as its cooperation with ASEAN Member States and partner countries, including Russia and India, along with future prospects for collaboration.
Likewise, the Ambassadors commended the Permanent Representative’s valuable contributions to ASEAN’s Community-building efforts throughout his tenure. They also praised his leadership roles as both the former Country Coordinator for ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations and the current Country Coordinator for ASEAN-Russia Dialogue Relations, and welcomed Myanmar’s Country Coordinatorship for ASEAN-India Dialogue Relations in July 2027.
