Permanent Representative attends the 14th IACA Assembly and delivers Statement

Ambassador U Min Thein, Permanent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Vienna, Austria, attended the 14th session of the Assembly of Parties of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) at the Vienna International Centre on 4 November 2025 and delivered a statement during the General Discussion.

The Permanent Representative reaffirmed Myanmar’s strong support for IACA’s work in training, research, and capacity-building for developing and least developed countries (LDCs), emphasizing the importance of scholarships and affordable programmes to ensure that no country is left behind. He highlighted Myanmar’s efforts to combat corruption and promote integrity, transparency, and accountability through the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Strategic Plan (2022–2025), with plans to extend it to 2026–2030.

He further elaborated that the Anti-Corruption Commission of Myanmar has established Corruption Prevention Units, conducted nationwide anti-corruption awareness campaigns, and strengthened international cooperation through Memoranda of Understanding with partner countries. He also informed the Assembly that Myanmar joined the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE Network) in 2025, continues active participation in meetings related to the United Nations Convention against Corruption(UNCAC), remains engaged with ASEAN Parties against Corruption (ASEAN-PAC), and will host the next ASEAN-PAC Principals Meeting in 2026.
