Myanmar Embassy Staff led by Ambassador’s Spouse Madame Mi Mi Maw hosted rotating Tea Gathering Event of the ASEAN Ladies’ Circle (ALC) – Beijing at the Myanmar Embassy (12-8-2025)

Myanmar Embassy staff led by Ambassador’s Spouse Madame Mi Mi Maw hosted rotating Tea Gathering Event of the ASEAN Ladies’ Circle (ALC) at the Myanmar Embassy in Beijing on 12th August 2025. The event was attended by the spouses of the Ambassadors of Myanmar, Brunei, and the Philippines, the Secretary-General of the ASEAN-China Centre, as well as lady diplomats and spouses from other ASEAN embassies. During the event, Madame Mi Mi Maw delivered a warm welcome address, highlighting an insightful presentation on Thanakha — a traditional cosmetic currently in the process of being nominated for inscription on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List. The programme featured a comprehensive presentation on Myanmar Traditional Thanakha, followed by a demonstration on its application, in which all ladies participated as part of the “Thanakha Experience” activity. Staff and family members of the Myanmar Embassy also performed the songs Mingalarpar and My Dear Myanmar Girl. Subsequently, the reception featured a variety of traditional Myanmar delicacies, including Milk Noodle, Shan Rice mixed with Fish Paste, and Pickled Tea Leaf Salad. On this occasion, the current rotating chair of the ASEAN Ladies Circle – Beijing, the Vietnamese Embassy, formally handed over the next rotating chairmanship to the Brunei Embassy, with the Madame of the Myanmar Ambassador serving as a witness to the handover ceremony.
