Myanmar Embassy received the donation for the people affected by the earthquake (9-5-2025)

On 28 March 2025, a major earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 on the Richter scale, centred 20 kilometres northeast of Mandalay, struck Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, Mandalay Region, Sagaing Region and other areas. H.E. U Soe Han, Myanmar Ambassador to Japan received the donation of Yen 500,000 (Yen five hundred thousand) from H.E. Mr. Makoto Koga, former Minister of Transport of Japan on 23rd April, Yen 300,000 (Yen three hundred thousand) from Sai no Kuni Health and Welfare Cooperative and Yen 100,000 (Yen one hundred thousand) from EAINDRA Network Co., Ltd on 30th April, Yen 300,000 (Yen three hundred thousand) from Medical Care Planning Co., Ltd and Yen 200,000 (Yen two hundred thousand) from Tokyo One Co., Ltd. on 7th May, and Yen 40,000 (Yen forty thousand) from Japanese well-wishers in the Shinagawa-ku on 8th May respectively. The Ambassador presented the letters of appreciation to them for their kind support to the people affected by the earthquake. As of 9th May 2025, Myanmar Embassy in Tokyo receives a total of Yen 15,013,000 (Yen fifteen million and thirteen thousand) as funds and received the relief supplies, medicines, tents and drinking water worth 20,000,000 (twenty million Yen). The relief supplies worth Yen 10,000,000 (Yen ten million) donated by the AEON 1% Club Foundation have already been transferred to Disaster Management Department of Myanmar. The remaining funds and relief supplies will be transferred to the National Disaster Management Committee in Myanmar through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Myanmar.
