Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok made efforts with Thai Company to provide compensation for Myanmar workers who were injured and dead in the Crane Collapse of a highway suspension bridge in November 2024 (30-5-2025)

 Local time at 0400 am, on November 28, 2024, as a crane frame used to connect concrete blocks collapsed at the expressway suspension bridge construction site at 21 miles on Phalam Song Road (RAMA-2), Samut Sakhon, Thailand and Four Myanmar workers were injured and killed. Under the guidance of the Myanmar Ambassador to Thailand, the necessary negotiations were held among the relevant Thai company, Myanmar Labour Attache’ and the Friends of Myanmar Embassy in order to obtain the compensation. To ensure that the bereaved families directly able to receive the compensation money in a timely manner, Labour Attache’ of Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok connected the Company to the family members with the help of relevant departments and social organizations on the Myanmar side. Thus, on 30 May 2025, the officials from UDONSAK CHIANGMAI Co., Ltd. handed over to the four family-members of the deceased workers, the compensation fund for humanitarian purposes and empathy of one million Thai baht each, a total of four million Thai baht, at the presence of the officials of Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok.
