On the sidelines of the 69 General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Ambassador U Min Thein, Myanmar Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other international organizations in Vienna and Director General Theingi Maung Maung of the Department of Atomic Energy of the Ministry of Science and Technology held a bilateral meeting with the delegation led by Mr. Alexander Trembitskiy, Chairman of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia (Rostechnadzor) on 16 September 2025 at the Vienna International Centre.
During the meeting, both sides cordially exchanged views on matters related to nuclear safety in implementing “the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of Nuclear and Radiation Safety Regulations in the peaceful use of Atomic Energy” signed between the Ministry of Science and Technology of Myanmar and Rostechnadzor of Russia during the Head of State's goodwill visit to Russian Federation.
