The Myanmar Delegation led by Charge’ d’ Affaires/ Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Paris, U Kyaw Nyun Oo, attended the 25th Session of the General Assembly of States Parties to the Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, which was held at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on 24 and 25 November 2025.
During the 25th Session of the General Assembly of States Parties to the Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, several key matters, such as adoption of the report of the 24th General Assembly and the report of the Second Extraordinary Session of the General Assembly of the World Heritage Convention; adoption of the Chairperson’s report on the activities of the World Heritage Committee; discussions on the financial statements of the World Heritage Fund; and discussions and adoption of draft resolutions on a variety of issues relating to the protection of world cultural and natural heritage were addressed.
An information session on Geographical Data Initiatives—including the UNESCO Sites Navigator and the Retroactive Inventory—was also held on 24 November 2025 during the General Assembly. The session highlighted ongoing efforts to expand the use of live satellite data to enhance the monitoring, protection, and management of World Heritage properties, as well as to improve the early identification of emerging risks.
