Ms. Khaing Su Linn, Consul-General of the Consulate-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Nanning attended“Senior Officials’ Meeting for the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo” held at Howard Johnson CAEXPO Plaza, in Nanning on 14th May 2025. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Wang Qihui, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs, Ministry of Commerce of China and Dr. Htein Lynn, Director-General of Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization, Ministry of Commerce of Myanmar. Dr. Wei Zhaohui, Secretary-General of the China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat, representatives from ASEAN countries, one representative from the ASEAN Secretariat, and officials from government departments in Guangxi attended the meeting. At the meeting, Mr. Wang Qihui, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Commerce of China, discussed the economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN countries, promoting CAEXPO as an important channel for cooperation not only between China and ASEAN countries but also with RCEP member countries, and encouraging ASEAN countries to effectively leverage the role of CAEXPO for regional economic integration. Afterwards, Dr. Wei Zhaohui, Secretary-General of the China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat, explained the plans for the successful holding of the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo to be held from 17 to 21 September 2025, the conditions for exhibiting pavilions related to AI and new high quality productive forces at this year's expo, and the issues to be jointly coordinated with ASEAN countries. Dr. Htein Lynn, Director-General of the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization discussed the preparations of Myanmar to participate as the honorary country of this year's expo, the market access of Myanmar's agro-based SMEs product into the Chinese market through the CAEXPO Platform, the display of Myanmar's high-quality gemstones, the participation of AI-related industries from ASEAN countries including Myanmar in exhibitions, and the holding of Myanmar national promotion conferences and business matching during the Expo. Representatives from ASEAN countries discussed and presented their ongoing process for participating in the exhibition respectively.
