Myanmar Consul-General in Kolkata, U Aung Aung MyoThein attended the MoU Signing Ceremony titled “For Boosting Bi-lateral Trade and Commerce”and delivered a key note address as Chief Guest. The ceremony was jointly organized by Indo-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce (IMCC) and Indian Chamber of International Business (ICIB) whereas the MoU was signed between them. The event was held on 10 April 2026 at Tangra Industrial Estate-2 in Kolkata, with participants from academic, hospitality, banking, trading, tourism, and sports fraternity. Members/representatives from ICIB from across India and overseas as well as IMCC (Myanmar) members joined the ceremony virtually.
The ceremony was organized with the focus on Kolkata-based businesses which are interested in doing business in Myanmar to get an insight into Ease of Doing Business in Myanmar. The event also featured an extensive interactive session during which business linking queries and networking were made across the sectors including healthcare, education, food products, ready-made baby garments, yarns, textiles, handicrafts, travel, and tourism under the theme “Explore Business Opportunities in Myanmar”.
