(3-4-2026, Nanning)

Daw Khaing Su Linn, Consul-General of the Myanmar Consulate-General in Nanning, attended and delivered a speech at the “2026 Guangxi Silk Road E-Commerce Empowerment Event.” The event was held at the Guangxi International Business Vocational College and was jointly hosted by the Department of Commerce, the Department of Education, and the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

In her speech, the Consul-General highlighted that the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area Version 3.0 will reduce tariffs and further facilitate digital trade. This will enable Myanmar’s agricultural products and specialty foods to be exported more effectively to Chinese consumers through prominent e-commerce platforms. She expressed her expectation that major logistics operations and digital payment systems will become increasingly integrated, and that advanced regulatory frameworks, such as those for cyber security and cross-border data flows will be established collaboratively. She further noted that this ceremony provides a platform for China-ASEAN dialogue and will equip young ASEAN students with practical skills by offering multilingual live-streaming training. Describing the young trainees as the “digital diplomats of the future,” she urged them to leverage digital innovations to jointly build a more connected and prosperous regional economy.

Following the speech, college officials provided a guided tour. They demonstrated and explained the practical live-streaming training sessions and the creation of product promotional videos using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, which are currently being taught to ASEAN students studying at the college.

The Event was attended by Mrs. Zhu Yan Ling, Deputy Director-General of the Guangxi Department of Commerce, Departmental officials from the Department of Education and the Department of Human Resources and Social Security, Consuls-General and diplomats from ASEAN countries based in Nanning, College administrators, teachers, and students from ASEAN countries.
