The flag-raising ceremony commemorating the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of the People’s Republic of China was held at Golden Bauhinia Square at 0800 hrs on 1 July 2026 and Ms. Phoo Pwint Ko Ko, Consul General of Myanmar, attended the event.
The ceremony was attended by The Hon. Mr. John Lee Ka-chiu, Chief Executive of the HKSAR, and his wife, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the HKSAR, other senior officials, Consuls General and representatives from various Consulates General, as well as invited distinguished guests.
Following the flag-raising ceremony, a reception was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, where the Chief Executive The Hon. Mr. John Lee Ka-chiu delivered speech and extended warm greetings to the guests in attendance at the event.
