Chargé d’Affaires/Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the United States, along with ASEAN Ambassadors and representatives from other ASEAN Embassies attended a meeting co-chaired by H.E. Mr. Adnan bin Haji Mohd Ja’afar, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the United States, and H.E. Ms. Jovita Neliupšienė, Ambassador of the European Union to the United States, at the office of the Delegation of the European Union to the United States of America on 27 March 2026.
At the meeting, the Ambassadors and representatives of the ASEAN Embassies and the EU Ambassador exchanged views on the progress in the ASEAN–EU Strategic Partnership, ongoing collaborative initiatives between the two regions, and shared challenges, including those related to the energy sector, as well as prospects for future cooperation. The Myanmar Chargé d’Affaires/Ambassador also briefed an update on the completion of the 2025 Multiparty Democratic General Elections and recent political developments towards democratic transition in Myanmar.
