Chargé d' Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Manila U Soe Ko Ko, and together with the Senior Officials from Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, Ambassadors, Chargé d' Affaires and representatives from ASEAN member States and ASEAN dialogue partners countries, attended a reception commemorating the 58th founding Anniversary of ASEAN, hosted by Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines at the Makati Diamond Residences Hotel, Manila in the evening of 11 August 2025. The reception was graced by the presence of H.E. Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro, Secretary of Foreign Affairs, who delivered a keynote speech. During the ceremony, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to the Philippines, H.E. Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino Anthony, also delivered the ASEAN Day message. The reception featured a cultural showcase presented by the Embassies of ASEAN Member States and the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, in line with this year’s theme: “ASEAN: Inclusivity and Sustainability.”
