In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake with 7.7 Richter scale that struck Myanmar on 28 March 2025, widespread destruction has been caused in various regions. In response to the disaster, on 30 April 2025, H.E. U Thant Sin, Myanmar Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, received a donation of KRW 3,000,000 from Venerable Sang Won, Chief Abbess of the Bo Myung Sa Temple in the Republic of Korea to support ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts in Myanmar. In recognition of this compassionate contribution, the Ambassador presented a Certificate of appreciation to the Chief Abbess and conveyed his sincere gratitude.
The donated funds will be transferred to the earthquake victims through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
