In the aftermath of the devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on 28 March 2025, widespread destruction has caused across several regions. In response to the disaster, on 11 June 2025, H.E. U Thant Sin, Myanmar Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, received a donation of KRW 1,000,000 from Venerable Cheong Bong of Bul Kwang Sa Temple, Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. Additionally, on 12 June 2025, a further donation of KRW 1,000,000 was made by Venerable In Hyang of Yu Jeong Sa Temple in Korea. These contributions are intended to support ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts for those affected by the earthquake in Myanmar. In recognition of their generous contributions, Myanmar Ambassador presented Appreciation Certificates to the donors and expressed his heartfelt gratitude for their compassionate contributions.
The donated funds will be transferred to the earthquake victims through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
