Ambassador of Myanmar to the Republic of Korea, H.E. U Thant Sin, attended the 2025 EPS Conference, held at The Shilla Hotel in Seoul, Republic of Korea, on 6 August 2025, along with ambassadors from the 17 EPS member countries that send workers to the Republic of Korea. The conference was graced by the presence of Mr. Kim Young Hoon, Minister of Employment and Labor of the Republic of Korea, and Mr. Lee Woo Young, President of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRD Korea) and senior officials. Together with the 17 ambassadors, labor attachés from the respective missions also attended the meeting. In his opening remark, Mr. Lee Woo Young, President of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRDK), attributed the success of the EPS system due to the ongoing collaboration with labor-sending countries, while reiterating Korea's dedication to further partnerships. He highlighted that the 2025 EPS Conference is designed to improve the knowledge and understanding of the system among embassies and dispatching agencies. Mr. Kim Young Hoon, Minister of Employment and Labor of the Republic of Korea underscored the vital role of foreign workers in the country’s economic development and reiterated the government's dedication to uphold their workplace safety, equitable treatment, and equal access to benefits, free from any form of discrimination. The Ambassador of Myanmar to the Republic of Korea, emphasized the importance of improving workplace safety of Myanmar workers through comprehensive awareness campaigns and rigorous inspections. Furthermore, he advocated for expanding the recruitment of qualified Myanmar workers within the EPS system, guaranteeing access to employment opportunities throughout the two-year roster validity, and promoting equitable employment prospects for all eligible candidates.
