Myanmar Ambassador to China H.E. U Tin Maung Swe attended and delivered a speech at the Graduation Ceremony of Beijing Foreign Studies University (20-6-2025)

The Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the People’s Republic of China H.E. U Tin Maung Swe attended and delivered a keynote address at the graduation ceremony of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) held on 20 June 2025 in Beijing.

Prior to the graduation ceremony, the Ambassador had a meeting with Mr. WANG Dinghua, President of the University Council; Mr. JIA Wenjian, Rector of Beijing Foreign Studies University; and the Vice Rector. They discussed the cordial relations between the two countries, the learning conditions of Myanmar students studying at the university, and requested to provide continued support to ensure their well-being and academic success. Then, the graduation ceremony was held in accordance with the program and Myanmar Ambassador delivered a speech. In his speech, he acknowledged the rich legacy of Beijing Foreign Studies University that was established in 1941, describing it as a beacon of knowledge and a hub for the development of cultural and academic exchange. He also highlighted the University's pivotal role in fostering mutual understanding among nations and praised its contribution to international dialogue. The Ambassador encouraged the graduates to uphold the enduring spirit of Myanmar-China friendship, to serve the country with their expertise and dedication, and to be part of a new generation of global professionals capable of bridging differences and building inclusive societies.

Following the ceremony, the Ambassador met with Myanmar students and Chinese students learning Myanmar language at the University. He urged them to put effort to their studies and to contribute actively to strengthening the bonds of friendship between Myanmar and China. He also advised them to comply with the school regulations and to reach out to the Myanmar Embassy for any assistance whenever necessary.

The graduation ceremony at Beijing Foreign Studies University was successfully held as scheduled, with the presence of distinguished guests, faculty members, and over 3,000 attendees, including deans, professors, graduates, and students from various departments.
