At the invitation of Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency U Zaw Win Myint, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the People’s Republic of China attended the 2026 New Year Reception hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 5-2-2026, at 18:00.hrs at its office building.
At the reception, nearly 500 people including Heads of Missions, diplomats from various countries, representatives of international organizations in China, and officials from respective government departments attended. Moreover, Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Wang Yi delivered a speech noting that 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the United Nations and that despite the challenges in international relations, China has continued to follow the right path in its diplomacy over the past year. He also highlighted the Global Governance Agenda (GGI) proposed by China. The Dean of the diplomatic corps in China, Cameroonian Ambassador to China, H.E. Mr. Martin Ampana, also extended his New Year greetings on behalf of the diplomatic corps.
