The Ambassador of Myanmar to Sri Lanka, Daw Malar Than Htaik, received the new Secretary-General of the Colombo Plan, H.E. Chulamanee Chartsuwan, who has assumed her duties starting from 1 July 2026, at the Embassy of Myanmar in Colombo on 6 July 2026 at 14:00 hours.
During the meeting, Ambassador Daw Malar Than Htaik extended her warm congratulations to H.E. Chulamanee Chartsuwan on her assumption of office as Secretary-General of the Colombo Plan.
The Ambassador expressed her sincere appreciation for the valuable assistance that the Colombo Plan has extended to Myanmar over the years through its scholarship, training, and capacity-building programmes. She also appreciated the Colombo Plan for its significant role in promoting technical cooperation, human resource development, and socio-economic progress among its member countries.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on Myanmar’s participation in and benefits derived from the Colombo Plan’s programmes, as well as future plans for continued cooperation under the framework of the Colombo Plan.
