Myanmar Ambassador to Nepal, H.E. U Myo Myint Maung, participated in a series of significant national and international events held in Nepal in May 2025. On 12 May, Ambassador attended the Buddha Anniversary Celebration at Ananda Kiti Vihar, located in Swayambhu, Kathmandu. Recognized as the state-level ceremony in Nepal, the event is held annually on the full moon day of Kason, commemorating the birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana of the Lord Buddha. The Right Honorable Prime Minister Mr. K.P. Sharma Oli and spouse graced this year celebration. Ambassador delivered a message of reverence in honor of Buddha Day. On 2 May, Ambassador attended the Opening Ceremony of the Federal Parliament of Nepal, during which the Right Honorable President delivered the official address to the legislature. Furthermore, on 9 May, Ambassador participated in the observance of Law Day 2025, in commemoration of the establishment of the Supreme Court of Nepal in 1956. Signifying their national importance, these events were attended by the President, Vice President and Prime Minister. Additionally, His Excellency was in attendance at the Lomanthang International Media Summit, jointly organized by the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and the Nepal Press Union (NPU). The Vice President, the Foreign Minister and the Minister for Communication and Information Technology of Nepal attended the inauguration of the Summit. The three-day summit focused on the critical themes such as democracy, press freedom and climate crisis.
