H.E. U Thant Sin, Myanmar Ambassador to Nepal donated a full set of Sixth Buddhist Council Edition Tipitaka scriptures in both Myanmar and Roman scripts to Venerable Sayartaw Agga Maha Saddhammajotikadhaja Baddanta Suzanita and Sayartaw Maha Saddhammajotikadhaja Baddanta Pandita residing at Myanmar Golden Temple, Lumbini at 1030 am on 22 February 2026. The scriptures were originally donated by the Acting President, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Service, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his spouse Daw Kyu Kyu Hla. During the donation ceremony, Ambassador and the Embassy staff also respectfully donated fruits and offerings to the Venerables. After that, Myanmar Ambassador met with Member Secretary Er. Deepak Shrestha and Senior Director and Spokesperson Gyanin Rai of the Lumbini Development Trust under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal at the office of the Lumbini Development Trust in Lumbini at 09:30 am on 23 February 2026. During the meeting, they discussed matters on further development of Myanmar Golden Temple and facilitating religious tourism for Myanmar pilgrims in the Lumbini Monastic Zone, and conducted a study tour around the Lumbini Garden.
