Myanmar Ambassador attends the commemoration of the Independence of the Democratic Republic of Congo (30-6-2026, Addis Ababa)

H.E. U Aung Min Oo, Myanmar Ambassador to Ethiopia, attended the commemorative conference and reception organized to mark the 66th anniversary of the independence of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The event was held on 30 June 2026 at the Hilton Hotel in Addis Ababa.
During the commemorative event, internationally renowned historian and Professor Emeritus Dr. Isidore Ndaywel delivered a keynote address under the theme, “Challenges to Peace and Development in the DRC, 66 Years After Independence: Historical Perspectives.” As an eminent specialist in the history of the DRC and Central Africa, Professor Ndaywel briefed the attendees on the historical journey of the nation, reflecting on its collective memory and the intricate political, social, and cultural dynamics that continue to shape the contemporary challenges and development of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The reception was attended by officials from the African Union, Ambassadors, Chiefs of Missions, Diplomats from various foreign embassies based in Addis Ababa, and other distinguished guests.
