A panel discussion commemorating the 75th Anniversary (Diamond Jubilee) of Myanmar-China diplomatic relations was held on 9 June 2025 at 15:30 at the Green Lake Hotel in Kunming. The event was jointly organized by the Consulate-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Kunming, the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Yunnan Province, and the Yunnan People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, under the theme “Reviewing the History of Myanmar-China Diplomatic Relations and Future Cooperation.”
The discussion was co-chaired by Mr. Thwin Htet Lin, the Consul-General of Myanmar in Kunming, and Mr. Yan Shaocheng, Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Yunnan Province. Participants included representatives from the Myanmar Consulate-General in Kunming, Myanmar scholars and students in Yunnan, as well as officials from various departments of the Yunnan Provincial Government.
During the discussion, participants exchanged views on past and ongoing multi-sectoral cooperation between the two countries, identified potential areas for future collaboration, and discussed efforts to further advance the Strategic Cooperative Partnership and to build a community with a shared future.
