H.E. U Zaw Zaw Soe, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Thailand, met with Ms. Sirilak Niyom, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand at 10:30 hrs. on 7 May 2026 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the Myanmar Ambassador provided a comprehensive briefing on political developments in Myanmar, particularly the resumption of parliamentary proceedings, the new elected government's commitment to prioritizing peace and national reconciliation as well as the government’s steadfast dedication to achieving national stability and development through various strategic initiatives across multiple sectors. Ms. Sirilak Niyom expressed appreciation for the update on Myanmar’s current progress and reiterated that Thailand acknowledges and welcomes the constructive steps taken by the new Myanmar government towards the peace process.
