The 58th Anniversary commemorative ceremony of the founding of ASEAN, organised by the ASEAN Secretariat, was held at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan on 8 August 2025 with the theme “Towards Inclusive and Sustainable ASEAN Future.” H.E. U Soe Han, Myanmar Ambassador to Japan attended the commemorative ceremony. The commemorative ceremony was attended by the Ambassadors and Charge d’Affaires a.i. of all ASEAN Embassies in Tokyo, and representatives of ASEAN Dialogue Partners, and various ASEAN entities. During the ASEAN Day official ceremony, H.E. Mr. Hiroyuki Namazu, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan and H.E. Mr. Satvinder Singh, Deputy Secretary-General of the ASEAN for Economic Community delivered the remarks respectively. After the ceremony, a joint press conference was held by DSG Satvinder Singh and YB Senator, H.E. Mr. Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz , Minister for Investment, Trade and Industry of Malaysia. Afterwards, the representatives visited the pavilions exhibited by ASEAN members and Japan at the World Expo 2025.
