On 13 August 2025 at 10:00 a.m., the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in New Delhi hosted a donation ceremony for the Sixth Buddhist Council Edition Tipitaka (53 volumes) in two scripts — Myanmar and Roman — and U Kala’s The Great Chronicle (Volumes 1 and 2). The books were donated by the Acting President, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, and his spouse, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla. In conjunction with the ceremony, the Myanmar Embassy family organized a Waso Robes Offering Ceremony. A total of fourteen venerable monks and two nuns were respectfully invited to attend. H.E. Mr. Zaw Oo, Ambassador of Myanmar, and his spouse, Daw Pwint Nwe Wai, attended the event together with officials and family members from the Embassy and the Office of the Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy, and Air). The ceremony commenced with the recitation of “Namo Tassa” three times in homage to the Buddha, followed by the administration of the Five Precepts by Venerable Ashin Panninda, a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of History, University of Delhi, residing at the International Students’ House. The members of the Sangha then recited the Metta Sutta and Paritta. Subsequently, the Ambassador of Myanmar, together with his spouse and other attendees, respectfully offered Waso robes, offertories, the Tipitaka (53 volumes in two scripts), and two volumes of U Kala’s The Great Chronicle (Volumes 1 and 2) to the Sangha. Venerable Ashin Panninda delivered a sermon (Anumodana), after which a water-libation ceremony was held to share the merits of the donations with all living beings. The ceremony concluded with the recitation of “Buddha sāsanaṃ ciraṃ tiṭṭhatu” (“May the Buddha’s Dispensation be Prolonged”) three times. Finally, lunch alms were respectfully offered to the members of the Sangha and two Silashins, led by Venerable Ashin Panninda.
