Coordination Meeting of the Moji Kabar Aye Pagoda and the Ceremony of offering 2025 religious titles held at Moji Kabar Aye Pagoda (2-6-2025)

The first Coordination Meeting of the new Board of Trustees of Moji Kabar Aye Pagoda which was built in 1957 in Moji city, Kita-Kyushu, Japan was held at Moji Kabar Aye Pagoda, at 1500 hrs on 29 May 2025. 

The coordination meeting was attended by Sayadaw AGGAMAHAPANDITA BADDHANTA Nyannuthara, chief monk of Joh Shin An Dhamma Monastery, Sayardaw BADDHANTA Candajoti and Sayardaw BADDHANTA Pyinnyarnanda from Moji Kabar Aye Pagoda, H.E. U Soe Han, Myanmar Ambassador to Japan and a member of the Board of Trustees, and Myanmar and Japanese members of the Board of Trustees.

At the coordination meeting, the new list of board of trustees of the Pagoda was approved and discussed the issues related to the maintenance and conservation of Moji Kabar Aye Pagoda.

After the meeting, the Ceremony of offering 2025 MAHA SADDHAMMA JOTIKADAJA religious titles to former president of the Japanese Board of Trustee, Mr. Susumu Sakuma and former vice-president Mrs. Kazuko YASAKA were continued. 

 At the ceremony, Ambassador U Soe Han made congratulatory remarks and the aim of the ceremony for conferring the 2025 religious title to the recipients. Afterwards, Ambassador U Soe Han presented MAHA SADDHAMMA JOTIKADAJA titles and insignias to Mr. Tsunekazu Sakuma, son of the late Mr. Susumu Sakuma on his behalf and Mrs. Kazuko YASAKA respectively. Afterwards, Mr. Tsunekazu Sakuma on behalf of his father, Mr. Susumu Sakuma and Mrs. Kazuko YASAKA made appreciation remarks on receiving the religious titles.

Mr. Susumu Sakuma was awarded the religious title of MAHA SADDHAMMA JOTIKADAJA by the State Administration Council of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on 4 January 2025 for his contribution and efforts to the conservation of Moji Kabar Aye Pagoda and his dedication towards the propagation of Theravada Buddha Sasana among Japanese people. 

Mrs. Kazuko YASAKA was awarded the religious title of MAHA SADDHAMMA JOTIKADAJA by the State Administration Council of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on 4 January 2025 for her contribution towards the conservation and maintenance of Moji Kabar Aye Pagoda since 1997 and her dedicated efforts in promoting and propagating Buddha Sasana in Japan. Mrs. Yazuko YASAKA is the daughter of Mr. Momotaro Yanagida, former Mayor of Moji city who led the establishment of the Moji Kabar Aye Pagoda in 1957.
