Consul-General of the Consulate General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, U Kyaw Zay Yar Lin met with Mr. Jiang Bin, Director-General of Foreign Affairs Office of Chengdu, Sichuan Provincial Government, at the Chengdu Foreign Affairs Office on 13 August 2025. During the meeting, they exchanged views on issues including: further promoting cooperation in the economic, cultural and tourism sectors between Myanmar and Chengdu; signing a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of a sister-city relationship between Yangon and Chengdu; enhancing cooperation in education and culture between the two sides after the establishment of the sister-city relationship; and providing scholarships for government officials and students from Myanmar to study at universities in Chengdu.
