Consul-General U Ming Kyaw Linn of the Consulate-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Chiang Mai, inspected the Certificate of Identity (CI) Issuing Center in Chiang Mai, which provides services to Myanmar workers residing in nine provinces of Thailand, namely, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Mae Hong Song, Lampang, Lamphum, Nan Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai provinces, and Mae Sot area. The head and staff of the CI Center welcomed the Consul-General and provided a detailed briefing on the CI issuance procedures. During the inspection, the Consul-General emphasized the importance of accurate data collection for Myanmar citizens and the need to facilitate a smooth and speedy CI issuance process. He also discussed with the staff the challenges they face in delivering services and offered guidance to address those issues. The CI Center in Chiang Mai is capable of serving up to 800 Myanmar workers per day. Since its opening on 6 August 2025, a total of 12,091 Myanmar workers have benefited from its services.
