Consul-General Daw Khaing Su Linn attended the opening ceremony of Shopping in China 2026 Guangxi “33 Consumption Festival” organized by the Department of Commerce of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in Nanning. She attended the event alongside other Nanning-based Consuls General from ASEAN countries.
At the ceremony, Ms. Lu Xinning, Vice Chairperson of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Government, delivered the keynote speech, and Mr. Chen Yu, Vice President of China Union Pay, gave the welcoming remarks. Following the speeches, the festival was officially launched after a series of presentations detailing Guangxi’s regional brands, local products, and special benefits for consumers; AI-powered spring holidays and joyful shopping experiences in Guangxi; smart technologies connecting with the world; special sales programs on online shopping platforms; ASEAN premium product selection programs; an AI-powered magic show; initiatives involving thousands of stores and millions of products; and cross-border payment systems.
Subsequently, relevant officials guided a tour and provided explanations regarding the display of products from ASEAN countries, including Myanmar, at the festival.
This festival is being grandly celebrated under the theme, ” Visit Guangxi for Spring Break, Celebrate Sanyuesan with Joy & Shopping.”
