Conferring of Honorary Religious Titles – 2025 Ceremony by the Myanmar Consulate General in Chiang Mai (13-5-2025)

An Honorary Religious Title Conferring Ceremony for the year 2025 was held on the Full Moon Day of Kasone (Vesak Day), which falls on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Wat Sai Moon Myanmar Monastery in Chiang Mai. During the ceremony, Consul-General U Ming Kyaw Linn conferred the Saddhammajotikadhaja title upon the Venerable Sayadaw U Pyinnyasakka of Wat Sai Moon Myanmar Monastery. The Venerable Sayadaw U Pyinnyasakka is well-versed in Sīla (moral discipline), Samādhi (concentration), and Paññā (wisdom), and has made invaluable contributions to the propagation of the Buddhasāsana. His efforts include teaching the Buddha's teachings throughout Chiang Mai and northern Thailand, establishing monastic education programs in both Myanmar and Chiang Mai, and conducting Dhamma classes for Myanmar children residing in Thailand to help them become familiar with the Dhamma and grow in wisdom. In addition, the Sayadaw teaches Myanmar literature in accordance with the curriculum of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, aiming to preserve and promote Myanmar literary heritage. In recognition of these noble efforts, the Venerable Sayadaw has been conferred the Saddhammajotikadhaja title.
