U Win Zeyar Tun, Chargé d'affaires ad interim / Minister of the Myanmar Embassy in London participated in the meeting between the ASEAN-London Committee (ALC) and the UK-ASEAN Business Council (UKABC) on 12 May 2026.
The meeting was co-chaired by the Chair of ALC, H.E. Ms. Panha Tuot, Ambassador of Cambodia to the United Kingdom, and Lord Vaizey, Chair of UKABC. During the meeting, the ASEAN Embassies and UK business representatives discussed matters regarding the enhancement of business cooperation.
The Chargé d’Affaires of Myanmar highlighted that the energy transition from fossil-based to renewable energy for energy security has become indispensable for countries including Myanmar against the backdrop of current global crisis and should be prioritized in business cooperation. He also expressed an intention for further collaboration in the education sector for the benefit of Myanmar’s young generation. Furthermore, he proposed to explore opportunities for trade and investment through close cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce of ASEAN countries and the UKABC.
