The Embassy of the Philippines hosted the 328th Meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) at the Embassy on 16 February 2026. The Meeting was attended by H.E. U Kyaw Tun, Chargé d' Affaires/ Ambassador of Myanmar to Japan, ASEAN Ambassadors, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. and ACT officials of the ASEAN Embassies.
During the meeting, ASEAN Ambassadors had friendly and candid discussions on Japan’s domestic development, regional development and the upcoming activities to be organized by the ACT.
The meeting was followed by the Lunch Talk between ASEAN Ambassadors and Ambassador Mr. Takio Yamada, Inaugural Executive Director of the Center for Global Outreach at the Japan Institute of International Affairs(JIIA). During the discussion, Mr. Takio Yamada and Ambassadors exchanged views on ongoing cooperation between Japan and ASEAN Member States.
