The Myanmar Delegation, led by the Chargé d’Affaires a.i./Ambassador of Myanmar to Malaysia, attended the 19th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) and the 12th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus) held from 31 October to 1 November 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia.
The Meetings were chaired by His Excellency Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Minister of Defence of Malaysia, in his capacity as the Chairman of ADMM for 2025. Present at the Meetings were the Ministers of Defence from the ASEAN Member States, as well as from the ASEAN Plus Countries — namely Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, the Russian Federation, and the United States — together with Senior Officials, Defence Officials, the Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, and Officials from the ASEAN Secretariat.
The meetings, held under the theme “ASEAN Unity for Security and Prosperity”, discussed matters pertaining to the strengthening of defence cooperation among ASEAN Member States and with the Plus Countries to promote regional security and practical cooperation in the way forward. The Meeting also exchanged views on the current cooperation mechanisms and their future enhancement.
