The Asia-Pacific Ladies Friendship Society, consists of 26 embassies from Asia-Pacific region, held the annual Charity Bazaar to provide necessary assistance towards betterment of education and welfare of women and children in the region and to help the needy people in case of natural disaster. The 2025 ALFS Charity Bazaar was organized with participation of 23 member embassies including Myanmar, and Japan business companies at Meiji Kinenkan on 23 April 2025. The spouse of the Ambassador of Myanmar has served as the representative of the Embassy side for 2024-2025 term. The 2025 ALFS Cheque Sharing Ceremony was held on 26 June 2025 at the Embassy of Malaysia in Tokyo. Madame Satoko Iwaya, spouse of the Foreign Minister of Japan attended the ceremony and Representatives from 23 countries were present to receive the cheques. At the ceremony, Mme. Suriyah Abdullah, spouse of the Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan and ALFS’ Embassy-side Deputy Representative, Mrs. Mariko Nakasone, President of ALFS and Daw Lei Lei War, spouse of the Myanmar Ambassador to Japan and ALFS’ Embassy-side Representative delivered the remarks respectively. At the ceremony, Daw Lei Lei War, Spouse of Myanmar Ambassador to Japan received a cheque worth of Yen 611,000 from Madame Mariko Nakasone, President of the ALFS. The Myanmar Embassy will contribute the proceeds received from the ALFS through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to support rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in the areas affected by the recent major earthquake in Myanmar.
