ASEAN Embassies in Tel Aviv Jointly Host ASEAN Day Reception (9-8-2025)

In commemoration of the 58th Anniversary of the Establishment of ASEAN, which falls on 8 August 2025, the ASEAN Embassies in Tel Aviv jointly hosted the ASEAN Day Reception on the evening of 7 August 2025 at the HaYarkon Park, Tel Aviv. Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Myanmar to the State of Israel, H.E. U Thein Zaw, and officials of the Myanmar Embassy, together with the Ambassadors and officials of the ASEAN Embassies in Tel Aviv, participated in the event. The Director-General of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, H.E. Mr. Gil Haskel, attended the event as the Guest of Honour. The officials from Israeli government departments, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, diplomats from the Embassies in Tel Aviv, members of the diplomatic corps, and invited guests were also present at the event. Prior to the reception, at the office of the Ambassador of the Philippines, the Dean of the ASEAN Committee in Tel Aviv, H.E. Mr. Ly Duc Trung, Ambassador of Vietnam, expressed his condolences and sympathies on the passing of the Pro Tem President of the Republic of the Union Myanmar, H.E. U Myint Swe, on 7 August 2025. A one-minute silence was observed by ASEAN Ambassadors and Deputy Chiefs of Missions in his honour before the commencement of the ASEAN Day event. The 58th ASEAN Day Reception was opened with commemorative speeches delivered by H.E. Mr. Ly Duc Trung, Ambassador of Viet Nam and Mr. Gil Haskel, Ambassador and Director-General of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel. Heads of Mission of the five ASEAN countries cut a commemorating cake and sang the ASEAN Anthem at the opening session of the event. During the event, the ASEAN Embassies served a variety of traditional foods of respective countries to the guests.
