In commemoration of the 59th Anniversary of the Establishment of ASEAN, the ASEAN Embassies in Canberra including Myanmar Embassy jointly hosted the ASEAN Carillon Concert on 22 September 2026 at the National Carillon, Canberra.
The event was attended by over 100 guests including Ambassadors, High Commissioner and members of diplomatic corps as well as senior officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The Chargé d’affaires Daw Myat Thuzar Than and diplomats from Myanmar Embassy, also attended the event together with Heads of Missions and diplomats from other ASEAN Embassies.
During the concert, the ASEAN Anthem and 11 songs representing each ASEAN Member State were played on the carillon by Dr. Thomas Peter Laue, Senior Carillonist at Canberra’s National Carillon, with the aim of showcasing the unity and amity of ASEAN while highlighting the rich diversity of the region’s cultural and musical heritage. The song “Man Taung Yate Kho” was played as the national song representing Myanmar.
