Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to China attends ACB Working Luncheon with ASEAN Secretary-General Dr. Kao Kim Hourn (23-7-2025)

 On 23rd July 2025, H.E. U Tin Maung Swe, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the People’s Republic of China participated in a working luncheon hosted by H.E. Mr. Chatchai Viriyavejakul, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand and Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Beijing (ACB) in honour of the visiting ASEAN Secretary General Dr. Kao Kim Hourn with an aspect to be received by the ACB member Ambassadors in Beijing. The luncheon was held at the Shenzhen Hall, 3rd Floor of Kerry Hotel in Beijing and attended by H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN and ASEAN Ambassadors in Beijing. At the luncheon, Ambassador H.E. U Tin Maung Swe formally welcomed the delegation led by Secretary-General Dr. Kao Kim Hourn to Beijing and also expressed his appreciation to the Thai Ambassador H.E. Mr. Chatchai Viriyavejakul for organizing the meeting. He also reaffirmed Myanmar's enduring adhere to the principles of the ASEAN Charter and reaffirmed the commitment to realize the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 with its utmost efforts. Afterwards, the Ambassador gave a brief account of Myanmar’s preparations for the multiparty General Election scheduled to be held by the end of 2025. The ASEAN Secretary-General reaffirmed ASEAN’s commitment to supporting efforts related to the situation in Myanmar. ASEAN member states have agreed to support the implementation of a Myanmar-led and Myanmar-way political process. Accordingly, ASEAN will extend its full support toward ensuring a credible and inclusive electoral process in Myanmar. The working luncheon was also attended by ASEAN Ambassadors based in Beijing, during which amicable and open exchanges took place among representatives of the regional countries.
