Ambassador of Myanmar to China attendedthe Green and Sustainable Development Forum held in Ningbo, Zhejiang(2-5-2026, Ningbo)

The invitation of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China, Ambassador of Myanmar to China H.E. U Zaw Win Myint, attended the Green and Sustainable Development Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization-SCO held in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province from April 28 to 30, 2026 and delivered a speech at Promoting Global Sustainable Development through Green Cooperation Forum which is held side-by-side.
In his remarks, Myanmar Ambassador emphasized that said that the current Green and Sustainable Development Forum play an important role, and that green and sustainable development is a matter of great importance, and that Myanmar is actively working on restoring and developing its energy sector, protecting the environment, and conserving its natural resources and wealth. He also stated that Myanmar will cooperate with neighbouring countries to achieve ongoing environmental protection and sustainable development, and will work regionally to reduce carbon emissions and promote a greener environment. He also noted that China is one of Myanmar’s key partners in restoring and expanding energy capacity and in advancing continuous green and sustainable development, going forward, and Myanmar is ready to work together with China and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member countries in clean energy, green environment, and sustainable development of agricultural sectors. He also highlighted to cooperate in the industrial and investment sectors, and create regions that will continue to develop and prosper. He also reaffirmed that Myanmar will fully cooperate in creating green environments and sustainable development and that this forum will benefit not only the SCO member countries but also international organizations.
The ceremony was also attended by Ms. Shen Yunyun, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Chairwoman of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission; Mr. Wang Hong, Secretary of the Communist Party of China of Zhejiang Province and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress. Moreover, Mr. Bakyt Torobaev, Special Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Hongronquy, Minister of Environment and Ecology of China, and relevant ministers and deputy ministers from Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Laos, Pakistan, and the Maldives were also attended.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia and the Head of the Special Delegation of Russia delivered speeches via video, while officials from UNDP and UNEP, officials from relevant state foreign ministries, news organizations, heads of state from member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and representatives from observer countries and a total of 500 people participated in the Forum, including experts in relevant fields, Ambassadors, representatives and diplomats from the embassies of SCO member countries in China.
