His Excellency Mr. Zaw Oo, Ambassador of Myanmar to India, attended the celebration of the 77th Republic Day of the Republic of India in New Delhi on January 26, 2026.
Her Excellency Smt. Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, delivered a keynote address at the event, which featured a grand display of India’s defense capabilities, including a ceremonial march by the armed forces, a breathtaking aerial show, and an impressive exhibition of military might. The event also showcased vibrant cultural performances and the participation of representatives from various ministries and states, all proceeding along Kartavya Path.
The President of the European Council, H.E. Mr. Antonio Costa, and President of the European Commission, H.E. Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen, honored the occasion as the chief guests. The ceremony was further graced by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, the Defense Minister, senior officials of the Government of India, and approximately 10,000 attendees.
Later that evening, His Excellency Mr. Zaw Oo and his spouse attended a state dinner hosted by Her Excellency Smt. Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
