The Commemoration Ceremony for Vesak Day (Buddha Day) took place on May 2, 2026, at Oxford Buddha Vihara in Serbia, one day after the full moon day of Kason. The event was opened by Venerable Monks with the chanting of Namaw Datha, followed by meditation with devotees and the offering of alms to the Venerable monks, in accordance with Myanmar Buddhist tradition.
The ceremony was attended by U Than Htwe , Ambassador/ Charge d’ Affaires of Myanmar, the Ambassador of India, the President and devotees of the Theravada Buddhist Community in Serbia, and staff members of the Embassy of Myanmar.
