In commemoration of the 58th ASEAN Day, a reception was jointly hosted by Myanmar Ambassador, Chair of ASEAN Committee in Islamabad (ACI), and Heads of Mission of ASEAN at Serena Hotel, Islamabad on 8 August 2025. The ceremony was graced by H.E. Mr. Aurangzeb Khan Kichi, Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, as Chief Guest of the Government of Pakistan, and was attended by representatives of the National Assembly of Pakistan, foreign ambassadors, diplomats and representatives of UN agencies, high-ranking government officials, academia, business representatives, media and other invited guests. The ceremony was opened by the welcoming remarks of the ACI Chair, Ambassador U Wunna Han of Myanmar, followed by the keynote address by the Chief Guest, Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, H.E. Mr. Aurangzeb Khan Kichi. A group photo was taken; a commemorative cake was shared and best wishes were exchanged. A gift basket containing products from all ASEAN countries and a commemorative ACI plaque on the occasion of the 58th ASEAN Day were presented to the Chief Guest. It was followed by a fashion show featuring fabrics and traditional costumes from each ASEAN country and costumes from provinces of Pakistan. Then, guests are served with delicious cuisines from ASEAN countries and Pakistan.
