Messages of sympathy have been sent from Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council of the Union of Myanmar Senior General Than Shwe to President of Indonesia Dr H Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, from Vice-Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council of the Union of Myanmar Vice-Senior General Maung Aye to Vice President of Indonesia Mr Jusuf Kalla, from Prime Minister of the Union of Myanmar Lt-Gen Soe Win to President of Indonesia Dr H Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and from Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Union of Myanmar, U Nyan Win to Foreign Minister of Indonesia Dr N Hassan Wirajuda for the extensive loss of life and property suffered by Indonesia as a result of the powerful earthquake that occurred off the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia on 28 March 2005.
