The Government of the Union of Myanmar has agreed to the appointment of Mr Noel Claudio Cabrera as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to the Union of Myanmar.

Mr Noel Claudio Cabrera was born on 18 January 1945. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications from the University of the Philippines in 1969. He joined the Manila Times Radio as News Writer in 1968 and from 1974 to 1976 he was Chief of Information Division at the Department of Natural Resources. From 1976 to 1998, he served in various capacities in the media services of the Philippines. From 1998 to 2001, he served as Press Undersecretary at the Office of the Press Secretary at the Malacanang Palace. From 2001 to 2002, he was appointed as Press Secretary at the Office of the Press Secretary at the Malacanang Palace. During the period, he also served as member of the Presidential Coordinating Committee on National Security at the Office of the President. From 2002 to 2003 he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Coconut Life Assurance Corporation (COCOLIFE). He has been serving as Ambassador of Philippines to Romania with concurrent jurisdiction over Bulgaria and Moldova since 2003.
