Daw Kyaing Kyaing lay wreath at Samadhi of Mahatama Gandhi |

NAY PYI TAW, 30 July - Chairman of the
State Peace and Development Council of the Union of Myanmar Senior General
Than Shwe and wife Daw Kyaing Kyaing visited the Samadhi of Mahatama Gandhi
in Rajghat in New Delhi after attending the welcoming ceremony of President
of the Republic of India Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil on 27 July morning.
First, Senior General Than Shwe and wife Daw Kyaing Kyaing laid a wreath and paid tribute holding a minute's silence at the Samadhi of Mahatama Gandhi. Next, Senior General Than Shwe and wife Daw Kyaing Kyaing scattered petals at the Samadhi of Mahatama Gandhi. Senior General Than Shwe and wife Daw Kyaing Kyaing signed in the visitors' book. Afterwards, Mr. Rajneesh, secretary of Samadhi
of Mahatama Gandhi Committee, made a presentation on preservation work
and presented books published in commemoration of Mahatama Gandhi and
a gift to the Senior General. |
