President U Thein Sein attends Mekong-Japan Summit |

NAY PYI TAW, 21 Nov - President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Thein Sein attended the Mekong-Japan Summit held at Samudra Hall of Ayodya Hotel in Bali of Indonesia at 7 pm on 18 November. Also present at the summit were Japanese Prime Minister Mr Yoshihiko Noda, Leaders of Mekong Subregion countries Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen, Laotian Prime Minister Mr Thongsing Thammavong, Thai Prime Minister Ms Yingluck Shinawatra and Vietnamese Prime Minister Mr Nguyen Tan Dung, ministers of Japan and countries in Greater Mekong subregion, deputy ministers and high-ranking officials. Before the meeting, the Heads of State/ Government posed for a documentary photo. Next, the Japanese Prime Minister made an opening address at the summit. Then leaders of Japan and countries in Greater Mekong Subregion discussed matters related to cooperation between countries sharing Mekong River and Japan, and released a joint-declaration. MNA |
